Book Your Tickets Now for Travel during that Busy Period

Christmas is coming, and seats are going fast! VIA Rail Canada wishes to encourage those planning on travelling over the Holiday period to purchase their tickets as soon as possible to ensure availability and to take advantage of the best fares available. Discount fares are still available on many departures during the holiday period, which runs from December 15th to January 5th.

With its reservation lines already very busy and winter weather beginning to make itself felt in many parts of the country, VIA expects some popular train departures will be sold out quickly: VIA will be monitoring ticket sales carefully so it can assign and cycle passenger cars to meet demand. Customers should leave plenty of time prior to their train departure, as ticket line-ups are longer than normal. Customers can also use the ticket kiosks to avoid the lengthy line-ups or the driving and parking stresses associated with inclement weather. Ticket kiosks are located in the following Corridor locations: Québec, Ste-Foy, Montréal, Dorval, Ottawa, Fallowfield, Kingston, Belleville, Cobourg, Oshawa, Toronto, Oakville, Aldershot, Brantford, Guelph, Kitchener, London and Windsor.

And don’t forget! VIA Rail Gift Cards are available at all VIA stations in $25 and $100 denominations or as reloadable flex value cards.

Customers can visit VIA’s secure Web site at viarail.ca to book a trip anywhere in the VIA system. Train tickets are also available at VIA stations across Canada, including self-service ticketing kiosks located at major stations in central Canada.
